Digipak Imagery:
Ed Sheeran’s “Best Part of Me” is a tender love song in which Sheeran and YEBBA portray the role of lovers with self-esteem issues. In other words when they self-reflect they notice a number of personal flaws, and with Sheeran some of these are even physical, as in him feeling he is unattractive. Or as the singers themselves put it, they don’t even ‘love themselves’.
Thus they are highly appreciative of the affection they respectively receive from each other, as it imbues them with a sense of self-value amidst all of the aforementioned internal negativity. Or as they artistically put it in the song, they perceive the ‘best part of themselves’ to actually be the other person. And this expression adequately ties together the two main narratives being told in this track, which is the singers having personal issues yet simultaneously being deeply in love with the other person.
This is something that we are trying to incorporate into our music video, and therefore try and get these themes to come across in the digipak.
I decided to look at some of the CD album artwork on some of Ed Sheeran's previous work as well as the album which includes this song to gain some ideas of what to expect and try to include:

The photos above are taken from the No.6 Collaborations Project, which is the album that 'Best Part of Me' is in. The overall theme is black and white and shows the process of Ed making and producing his music. I like these photos because it brings a realistic feel, is consistent with the theme, and includes lyrics from the songs that relate to the photos. For example, the second and third photo includes the lyrics 'You know it ain't my time to call it a day' and 'Wanted to make it big, wished it into existence' which are lines from his song 'Remember the Name' featuring Eminem. The photos link to the lyrics, which adds meaning to the lyrics. We see Ed at a mixing desk, obviously working on his song, and the lyrics suggest that this could have been a long and tiring day for him, but he pushed through and didn't give up, implying the 'It ain't my time to call it a day'.

These photos are from the CD album the greatest hits of Ed Sheeran, released in 2017. There is a different, but clear theme identified in these photos. using the contrasting blues and oranges. They use simple shots of the artist, which is common with many artists, and something we plan on doing.
On the front cover, I'm thinking of having both Chloe and Oscar in a mid or wide shot with the lighting shining behind them or even a shot from behind with the lighting shining towards them similar to this photo:
However, this may be hard to get as we are not experienced with the lighting and we might not have the lights we need in order to create this shot. I'm also thinking of having this type of shot on the front cover if the previous option doesn't turn out great:
On the inside covers, I'm thinking of having the shot of the rose in bloom:
And on the other side, I plan on having the shot of the couple's silhouettes dancing to the sunset.
I think it would be best if we both took turns taking photos since we know what shots we are trying to get and ideas on how to get them the way we want them. I plan on doing most if not all the filming since I have done the storyboard and understand how I want the actors to be portrayed in each shot.
